Last Monday I shared this pattern...
This Monday we will I'd like to encourage you to play with your stitches to create your own stitch pattern.
Start with
seed stitch (over an even number of stitches)
Row 1: knit one, purl one--continue to end of row
Row 2: purl one, knit one--continue to end of row
Repeat rows 1 and 2 for pattern
Now engage your imagination
For example...
Combine two stitch patterns--such as purl and seed stitch
Row 1: knit one, purl one--continue to end of row
Row 2: purl
Row 3: purl one, knit one--continue to end of row
Row 4: purl
Repeat rows 1 to 4 for pattern
Experiment with the number of stitches in the stitch pattern
Row 1: knit two, purl two--continue to end of row
Row 2: purl two, knit two--continue to end of row
Repeat rows 1 and 2 for pattern
Experiment with the number of rows in the stitch pattern
Row 1 and 2: knit one, purl one--continue to end of row
Row 3 and 4: purl one, knit one--continue to end of row
Repeat rows 1 to 4 for pattern
I invite you to continue to experiment.

They say, "A picture is worth a thousand words." I really appreciate the way you weave photographs throughout your posts. For a non-knitter it makes all the difference.
Thank you for this very helpful feedback, Laurie.
Brilliant article.
